Has anyone used submersible floralytes or acolytes leds in your wedding centerpieces?

I was looking into using purple floralytes in a glass vase with some clear water beads and water but I’m not sure if they would last the whole 6 hours of my wedding. Has anyone had any experience with them? Also, how much were the ones you purchased and which website or store did you purchase them at?

Thanks!

  • And baby makes 3:

I used the same effect in my centerpieces and they lasted for the entire time and then after the fact (friends who took them home kept using them). Depending on the size of the vase you may want to use more than one to get a brighter effect (used 2 for every 8′ bubble vase and 4 in the 12′”). If you use the water beads try to drain out as much water as possible or it looks a little swampy like there is crap in the water. Only problem with this type of centerpiece is you have to do it at the last second possible (turning the lights on, rearranging what is in the vase after that), but I had a few friends run around helping out. I did the water beads the day before (as they require at least 6-8 hours to plump up) and organization of everything the morning of my reception (but this was a party after a destination wedding so a little more time to myself)

For the submersible floralytes I went to http://www.save-on-crafts.com/floralight.html
but for the water beads I found this site that you can buy them in bulk (trust me you will need quite a bit). I got 5 of them and that was enough to fill 15 8″ bubble vases and 5 12″ bubble vases. I used a cooler with a drain on it to fill them up as there were so many!
