Question by Akumi: Can a glass bead survive in a kiln?
I am making a clay dragon and am trying to come up with cool detailing effects. I was thinking of using small, red glass beads for the eyes, but I am unsure if the beads will melt, crack, etc.
In order to ensure that the beads stay in place, they would have to be placed into the clay while it is still moist and then would be required to run through the initial baking of the clay, and then the baking of the glaze.
What kinds of beads could I use?
Are there any other suggestions?

placing the beads after firing is not an option, even with an imprint. the clay shrinks once fired.

if you got it from a craft store ask a worker. my craft store person knows what kinds so explode and she checks the back of the package.

You seem to know a lot about rudrakshas… so you will also know that there is nothing called a cheap rudraksha… its just depends on how many “faces” or mukhis the rudraksha has.. the most expensive being the one with just one signle face… and instead of looking for cheap rudrakshas… try and look for GENUINE rudrakhsas…
