Black Otter Trading Post was founded in 1983 in Billings Montana. I named the store after the Black Otter trail there in Billings. I had started going to mountain man rendezvous way back in the 70′s when I was a lot younger. I even remember attending the nationals in southern Indiana back in high school. 32 years later I am not as active in rendezvous as I would like. I have other work I am doing these days that makes it hard to attend.
