What Is Your Ethnicity, And How Important Is It To You?
Mine is Native American.
It is extremely important because it’s who I am. My people were driven out of their lands centuries ago and we are still strong and living today. I love my traditional foods and I love pow wows. I’m very proud of being native american.
Im an Indian(as in asian indian)…and by the way…I totally sympathize with u guys. And ur culture and ur beliefs aren’t so different from ours!!
What happened to ur people was no different in comparison to what happened with mine.
‘Course we managed to fight the redcoats and gain independence.
I saw this movie…Bury my heart at wounded knee….It was sooo touching..
May ur people prosper…..and do ur best to preserve ur traditions!!
God Bless!!!
I’m filipino, along with some chinese, and spaniard blood (according to my dad) :] I’m proud of my ethnicity…even though people usually mistake me for something else lol
I believe that everyone’s ethnicity is important in who they are. Different cultures provide a new perspective, languages, and reaallly good food. They’re beautiful in their different ways.
I’m Black American. It’s pretty important to me because of the past history ofcourse and stuff. But I’m young so as much as I try I can’t relate to a lot of it, but i feel bad. Its just another world to me. I have other ethnicities mixing around another huge chunk is West Indian which is again pretty important to me. And some Native American here and there. There’s probally other things, I’ll learn as I grow in age. Until then I’ll just learn as much as I can and cherish it.
I’m Mexican American.
I like the food, its my favorite part. Also, their literature and Mexico itself is a nice place, but it does have major issues with its government and economy. Thats why I love America, and my American culture, the Hot dogs, burgers, TV shows, and the whole culture and view of achieving your dreams.
Have a good day
haha, pow wows sounds awesome.
but on a serious note, my father is somalian & my mother is italian. although i lived in italy most of my life (i currenlty live in the U.S.), i’ve never been to somalia so i never learned the culture of my father’s native land. but i am now beginning to learn the culture so i can balance my pride as a somalian-italian.
somalia isn’t considered a safe place to live but i hope someday i can visit the country. as far as being an italian goes, i LOVE italy & the describtion of my importance would cover a whole book.
I’m an American, but family background is Italian, Irish and Albanian.
I live out east on Long Island, New York not far from the Shinnecock Indian Reservation for their powwows and I’m a big fan of native American music.
Among many the Little Wolf Band is one of my favorites. .
Here’s a little bit of information about them in my area.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinnecock_…
I too am Native American but what does our ancestors losing their land have to do with us. Some of them were not driven out as much as sold it for basically nothing of their own free choice. This happened to many cultures and still is happening to some today. My family does not dwell upon what our ancestors lost but what we can achieve today by our own labor not our ancestors loss. We do not live on the reservation nor do we take the Government hand outs we are proud of who we are and we earn what we have today with our own hands this is what our people used to do in the past and it is how my family lives today. Yes we are proud of who we are. We love our land We respect our land We work our land and We even use what Natural sources God put hear for us to heal ourselves.
I’m a lot of ethnicity’s, but I mostly consist of:
Brasilian
Polish
Italian
Ukrainian
I am proud of my race(s). I just don’t like the way they’re treated though. How all Poles are dumb, or stupid, and the only good thing from Brasilians are sexual features. And I also hate how us Ukrainians were denied the fact that 10 million of us died in 1932-33 in the Holodomor.
Race is just another label. Shouldn’t even exist. We’re all human.
im asian. i use it to my advantage. i pretty much could get away with anything cuz every one stereotypes asians as dorks. i also use it to get girls cuz most asian guys lack confidence. its great being one of the few asian guys getting hella white and latina chicks just because no other asian guy every asked them out before lol
I am Native American, German, Russian, Spanish and Mexican. Those are my roots.
I do think it is important to know your history, however we are all humans and that is what is most important.
I’m a Native American Mohawk and proud of it. Always fighting for land rights and happy to be part of my community. Love the land and all people who make good use of it.
Dito honey! im native from south america, country Bolivia ethnic background Aymara. My ethnic background defines who i am and i love it to!! good for u honey i always admire how natives in the north value their traditions…
I’m White.
It’s not very important to me. Pretty boring.
I do love the Native American cultures.
I’m human and it’s extremely important, cause if we’re all human, then we’re all the same
Scottish American With 1/4 Cherokee
Very important
I’m black but it doesn’t define me.
It changes some things like hair care but that’s it. i’m still human. I’m the same as everyone else.
American here, but I dated many different ethnicity’s, last girl friend was Jamaican…..
im an arab. its ok i guess.
